Paper, what is it made of? Trees? Air? Plants? Well the answer to that question is plants, and to be specific its the papyrus plant. The Egyptians were hanging out around the Nile River and one of them said “Hey you see that plant over there?”. About 5000 Years ago Egyptians created “sheets” of papyrus by harvesting, peeling and slicing the plant into strips. The strips were then layered, pounded together and smoothed to make a flat ,uniform sheet. Cai Lun (Ky Loon) invented a method for making paper of a wood pulp. His basic method is still used to manufacture paper today.
Paper is it lighter than tablets? Yes, yes it is. Paper is a whole lot easier to carry around than tablets. It is so much easier to write on as well, paper all you gotta do is grab a feather and some ink and start writing on paper or a pen or pencil. On tablet you have to use a chisel and a nail and sit there for like two hours trying to write a sentence. The point is paper is way more lighter than tablets.
The Egyptians learned that the papyrus plant grows along the banks of the Nile as well as stone being a whole lot heavier than paper. When was paper invented? Only around 105 AD some people think paper was invented in china but it was really invented in Egypt. The Chinese believe they found waste in the water that was washed, soaked, and coarsely woven cloth stretched in a four-sided bamboo frame. It took 3000 years to make paper. Recycled pulp can be made from tissue, Computer paper, Brown paper, note paper ,photocopier paper or envelope- all used on their own or in combination. Tear the paper into pieces and the better quality of the paper, the smaller you need to tear the pieces and longer you need to soak them.
