This story was found and translated to common language from a Bantu tribe member journal or diary on their journey of the migration. this ancient text is 3000 years old and has survived through the time of the migration: 3000B.C.-1100A.D.
Our land is struggling the great gods have been upset with my people . They have punished us with the lack of water. The herds have left us ,and the land is too dried out to provide us with crops. Our spirit leader Akuchi has told us that we must go south to survive .When our village was abandoned we moved south.I ended up meeting the love of my life, Chukwuemeka as I was teaching her and her people about farming. When me and her were off in the land near the Congo River, she found a baby tiger. When we got back to the village with this feline, the people were ready to kill and skin this creature. When they raised their spears our spiritual leader yelled, “ the gods have given you this animal as a gift and you all just want to kill this creature.” After Akuchi explained that this animal should be domesticated and it can benefit the people with its superior hunting skills. The next day a great storm has came to the village the gods were angry with us a gust of sand picked up I
was blinded and when it was gone my tribe was split into two.
We may have been separated but our people can stay strong and continue to move on. When we scanned out our surroundings , we found ourselves to be in a dense forest with constant water fall. While we were here,I understood where we were and all I had to say is the other half of the tribe was definitely in a more farm friendly land. Through the exploration of this land, we found a strange tribe that needed our help. All of the people in this strange clan were lost. They didn’t have a common language so our temporary leader has began teaching them our language. When the clan had learned our ways ,we then knew that it was time to move on. Then all of a sudden a falcon came with a message on its back about our lost members.
On this letter it tells us they made it to the bank of the Congo River. they were cornered by traitor members and strange people. They showed how to make things with iron. The note told us to not try to find them and our people are going to be extinct by the next summer solstice. When we known this threat all of the males left in the clan began mating with all the women left in other clan women encountered on their journey. My people told their children and their children’s children about this movement and to keep their culture alive. To what man who finds this I hope that our children honored our final wish because the solstice runs near and my time is ending.
This text explains where we gotten iron working and how the african language ties all the way back to the Bantu people. These people were an impact on their agriculture. Also the way that they domesticated animals to show their importance to the world. A common clan has left a mark on the world and continues on through the heart of Africa.
